The goal of the KC Community Health and Wellness Fair is to provide comprehensive health services and resources to promote the well-being and empowerment of both the individual and family in their healthcare journey completely free of charge. We operate under evidence-based medical guidance under the supervision of UMKC Hospital Hill physicians, pharmacists, dentists, nurses, and community leaders in Jackson County, Missouri. Our objectives for the 2025 year are as follows:

 

1. To provide the following health services:

   • Hypertension screening (through manual and digital blood pressure measurements)

   • Diabetes screening (by measuring serum fasting glucose and A1C),

   • Hyperlipidemia screening (by calculating a basic random cholesterol)

   • General dental health in adults aged 18 or older

   • Completing a full sports physical evaluation for middle and high school children who require such documentation for participation in school sports.

     • All health services are supervised by faculty physicians at all times, with emergency services and health department security standing by. 

2. To provide educational materials (pamphlets, cards, live demonstration and examples, etc.) for the following health domains:

   • Healthy eating practices compliant to different health conditions

   • Child injury prevention

   • Car, bike, and firearm safety

   • Skin cancer prevention

   • Smoking cessation education 

   • LGBTQIA+ community resources

   • Exercise and weight management education

   • Drug safety for parents

   • Opioid and Narcan education

   • Stress and anxiety management

   • Reproductive/menstrual health

   • Voter registration information
